    Travel with King's College Alumni and Friends to Spain!

    Madrid and Barcelona Tour: October 30 - November 6, 2015

    Join King's alumni and friends for a week-long trip to Spain!

    Day 1:  Enjoy a Madrid City sightseeing tour: The tour will take you through all different and interesting views of Madrid: the elegant Plaza de Orient, Plaza de España, Parque del Oeste, Principe Pio, and a walk along the new Madrid-Rio area, Puerta del Ray, Puente del Rey Bridge, Virgen del Puerto Chapel offering one of the best views of the historic monuments reaching de Segovia Bridge and much more.  Enjoy some time to relax followed by a welcome dinner with fellow travelers.

    Day 2: Excursion to Toledo: The ancient Castillian capital of Toledo attracts more sightseers from all over the world than any other Spanish town. See the Moorish bridge, the 13th century gothic cathedral, and the church of Santo Tome.  Enjoy some free time before returning to Madrid for overnight.

    Day 3: Travel to Barcelona: On arrival in Barcelona, enjoy a half-day Barcelona City sightseeing tour.  The remainder of the afternoon and evening enjoy some free time in the "City of constant renewal".

    Day 4: Barcelona: Enjoy a free day to explore Barcelona at your own pace.  This city has so many interest areas, monuments and corners. Visit a unique creation that has become Barcelona’s most universal symbol, Sagrada Familia.  Casa Batllo is one of Gaudi’s best buildings.  You can't miss the Cathedral & Gothic quarter, symbol of the Barcelona diocese, situated on the site of a Paleochristian basilica.  Grüell Park, designed by Guadi, it is considered to be one of the most important art nouveau works in the world. See the Barcelona Olympic stadium the venue for the 1992 Olympics.  Built in 1888, the Colon statue commemorates the discovery of America.

    Day 5: Excursion to Montserrat: The Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat was founded in the 11th century and is located in a Natural Park 60 km to the west of Barcelona.

    Day 6: Optional excursion to see the Salvador Dali Museum at Figueres and the magical medieval town of Girona.  Farewell dinner with fellow travelers.

    Day 7: Depart Barcelona/Return to the United States

    Cost: $2,599 per person, based on double occupancy. Includes roundtrip direct flight and roundtrip transportation to the airport from King’s,*  first class hotel accommodations; breakfast daily; experience guided tours; transfers, taxes, and fees. *For those living outside of northeast Pennsylvania, contact Travelworld for special transportation arrangements.
